About Me
Physically active all my life, I discovered yoga four years ago when I walked into a gentle yoga class. I immediately recognized that this practice was something my mind and body needed and I became eager to learn as much as I could. After a few months, I found Ashtanga yoga and was amazed at the physical beauty and clarity this vigorous practice offered. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy and experience the best teachers and have studied with Ken Willian, Ana Hollis, Lisa Long, Doug Swenson, Robert Boustany, Charly Pivert, David Williams, Nancy Gilgoff, Rosella Rossi, Tim Miller, Mike Matthews, and Andrew Eppler. Through intensive practice, I came to understand that yoga offers much more than just physical benefits, although these are substantial. My mind became calmer, my thoughts more disciplined, and my breath became a source of serenity. Last year, I started teaching yoga and realized that sharing the joy of the practice was yet another dimension to my deepening love for yoga. I also teach private lessons in San Antonio and surrounding areas. I believe in the Ashtanga yoga system, but I have an eclectic approach to yoga, incorporating Anusara alignment principles, strength training and vinyasa flow into my classes. I also practice acro-yoga three times a week with Vladimir Vladev. This year, I was asked to teach several workshops on developing upper body strength and flexibility. I continue to expand my knowledge of yoga by attending workshops and retreats. Later this year, I will be taking teacher training with Rosella Rossi through Yoga Shala of San Antonio.
In my spare time, I enjoy gourmet food and wine, microbrewed beer, home roasted espresso, scuba diving, auto mechanics, blogging and practicing law.
